We work the system, steal taxpayer dollars, and are incompetent to boot. We don’t deserve what we have earned, and we certainly don’t deserve a voice in our working conditions. Our years if not decades of preparation and training do not make us worthy to earn what many of our students will make within a few years of leaving our schools and colleges. Rather than providing an essential service that keeps the economic engines going, educating future workers and good citizens, we manipulate and mooch off the system.

Nice piece of writing Julie. I had written a big long response this week-end, but I guess it didn't take. I will condense that response to this:
ReplyDeleteThere aren't as many jobs as there used to be becuase of higher productivity and technology. The rights of workers has been under duress for the last 30 years. The work of the GOP for business will not help our country's employment issues.
The loss of the middle class has been underway for some time - and to work for the ruin of public employee unions is the next step to bring all employees down vs. working to bring them up.
Again, thanks for your thoughtful post. Hopefully this comment "sticks" on the post.
